Congratulations to Viral Acharya

Viral Acharya, an IIT Bombay alumnus, has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India ("RBI"). Acharya, IIT Bombay, Computer Science Class of 1995, graduated with a President's Gold Medal and secured a doctorate in Finance from NYU’s Stern School in 2001. Prior to his appointment at the RBI, Acharya was C.V. Starr Professor of Economics at NYU's Stern School and Director of the NSE-NYU Stern Initiative on the Study of Indian Capital Markets. Apart from his achievements in the world of economics, Acharya has also composed at least 10 Hindi songs according to the Economic Times.
